Worship to Wardrobe: A History of Animism in Theatrical Costuming

This presentation traces performative costuming from pre-historic Siberian Shamanism to the modern era, and proposes that remnants of animism in contemporary costume design indicate a much older origin of the practice than Ancient Greece.
