Shifty Christians: The Catholic Church’s Shifting Perspective on Theatre

After the loss of art during the middle ages, the Catholic Church which condemned theatre was the first to reintroduce the art form to society. This research examines the Church’s shifting perspective on theatre from the fall of the Roman Empire to the 10th century CE.
