Born on the Fourth of July: Oliver Stone and the Vietnam War
Using Oliver Stone’s 1989 film Born on the Fourth of July as the prime example, this paper examines the director’s cinematic authorship. In this film, Stone presents an anti-Vietnam War position through use of recurring themes and a distinct visual style.
